GENERAL

This shop is the one stop home for all Eliza's recorded music and many projects with which she is associated. We are very happy to hear from you with any suggestions or comments. If you wish to contact us please mail shop@elizacarthy.co.uk

If listed in the shop, all items should be available for immediate delivery and we aim to fulfill all orders as quickly as possible. Allowing for postal transit time, your order should be with you within 14 days of your placing it.

ORDERING

Ordering could not be simpler. Select the item you wish to purchase from the list in the shop and hit the "Order" button. This will take you to the Check Out where you can complete your purchase by filling the necessary fields and hitting the "Buy Now" button. To purchase more than one item, simply hit the "continue shopping" button to return to the shop. You can review your purchases at any time by clicking on the "Checkout" button.

Internet Explorer v 6 users please note - The latest version of Microsoft's Internet Explorer handles cookies (small temporary text files created on your hard drive by the website you are visiting) in a different way. This has the result that you may be unable to make multiple purchases on one order because each cookie is over written by the next.

There is a simple fix for this, In Internet Explorer, click on the Tools tag on the tool bar at he top of your screen. Then click on Internet Options from the drop down menu that appears. then click the Privacy tag and then the Advanced button on the box that appears. Then simply enable the two options "override automatic cookie handling" and always allow session cookies" by checking the boxes.

SHIPPING

All orders are sent out using the Royal Mail. Please see below for full details of the options available.

If you wish, you may have your goods shipped to a different address to that to which the card is registered (the "billing address") simply hit the "ship to different address" button when placing your order.

ORDER PROCESSING AND SECURITY

The shop is hosted on Demon Internet's secure servers and your orders are processed by NETBANX (www.netbanx.com) who are one of the UK's most popular and established gateway and are approved by all the major clearing banks. The credit card information you enter is secure at all times and is separated from this site. Your orders are routed via Netbanx who withhold payment until we confirm that the item is ready for shipment. We never see even see your full card number (only the last four and the expiration date for security).

You will notice a couple of things about the shop: When you "order" an item you will be taken straight to the check-out.  To continue shopping you will need to click on the "continue shopping" button. This will take you back to the shop itself (this is a characteristic of the shop soft ware which is out of our control and we acknowledge is a bit of a pain). On some browsers a "Security Alert" window might pop up advising you that you are leaving a secure environment (the check-out) and returning to an insecure one (the shop). If you feel unsure that your credit card details will remain secure (we assure you they will) while moving between check out and shop, our advice is to only enter your card details when you have finished shopping.

PAYMENT METHODS

All transactions are in £ sterling and conversion rates are available from your local bank. 

We are able to accept VISA, MASTERCARD, AMERICAN EXPRESS, DINERS,  JCB and SWITCH via the on line shop. Please select the relevant card type from the drop down menu.

HOWEVER - If you do not have a credit or debit card you can still order merchandise by simply filling in the order form with your details in the correct boxes, ignore the credit card details, and print a hard copy which should be posted to the address below along with your payment. Please note that we can only accept postal orders, personal cheques in Pounds Sterling drawn on a UK bank or International Money

Orders (in Sterling) made payable to: "Eliza Carthy Clients Acct" and crossed payee only. If ordering using this method, please allow an extra 7 days for clearance of your cheque.

EURO CHEQUES. UK banks sadly no longer accept Euro cheques so neither can we. 

"AUTHORIZATION COULD NOT BE PERFORMED"

Occasionally some customers have received the above message when attempting to purchase an item in the shop. There are some common causes for this. Please try these before shouting at your PC or contacting us.

1. You have made a change to your order and have not hit the "recalculate after making changes button". It is always a good idea to hit this button just before the "But Now" one. This applies especially if your shipping address is different to your billing one.
2. You are purchasing from outside the UK and have not done so before. Sometimes your bank will prevent this as it is not within your normal purchasing pattern. A simple call to your card issuer is normally enough to cure this. This is for your own security.
3. The expiry date for your card has been entered incorrectly.

STOCK AND PRICES

We reserve the right to alter prices in the shop without notice, but be assured that value for your money is one of our highest priorities.

Orders will be fulfilled in the order they are received. If a particular item becomes unavailable after your order has been placed (for example limited edition items that might sell out during the normal daily processing of orders) we will contact you by email (or post) for advice.

In the event of faulty products we offer a no quibble replacement/refund facility provided that the goods are returned to us within 14 days.

POST AND PACKING (p&p) 

THESE ARE CALCULATED AUTOMATICALLY IN THE SHOP AND APPEAR ON THE CHECKOUT. Details of how they are calculated appear below.

Normal - Royal Mail/Air Mail

Your order will be sent by First Class mail within the UK and by Airmail (small packet) rate elsewhere in the world. The minimum charge is for 100g (the weight of a single CD with a small booklet) and we charge per 20g (or 50g in the case of UK mainland items) thereafter. Charges are calculated on the weight of the items ordered (using prices as published by the Royal Mail) and not any extra item we may slip in from time to time! International orders over 2kg in weight will be split into smaller packages. This costs us more (not you) but saves days in the delivery time.

A £1 handling and packaging charge will be added to each order.

We have split the areas of the world into areas in accordance with Royal Mail published information:

• UK Domestic (inc Northern Ireland)
• Europe (inc Eire)
• Australasia/E Asia (Australia, New Zealand, Japan, China etc) - Royal Mail
• World Zone 2
• The Rest Of The World (everywhere else) - Royal Mail World Zone 1

As a rough guide, a single CD in a plastic jewel case should cost £1.60 to ship inside the UK, £2.02 in Europe, £2.37 to N America and £2.41 to Australia. Don't forget that handling charge applies per order and not per item so multiple purchases cost less to ship per item.......

Registered Mail (signed for)

We also offer you the option to have your package delivered by registered mail. This does not make it any faster, but does give you the added security of a signature on delivery.

UK - would be sent Special Delivery - £5.55 up to 500g, £6.75 1kg, £8.05 2kg. This is Royal Mail rates plus a £1.50 handling & packaging charge to cover the extra admin involved. For the avoidance of doubt, please bear in mind Special Delivery guarantees next day delivery before 12 noon the day after it is posted, not the day after you have ordered it!

Rest of the World -  Air Mail cost plus £2.85 Post Office charge plus £1.50 packaging & handling.

These postage prices are correct as of Royal Mail charge increases on 8th May 2003. We reserve the right to increase postage charges in line with any increases the Royal Mail may make.

Your right to cancel

In accordance with The Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 you have the right to cancel your order (or any part thereof) provided:

1. you inform us of you desire to cancel within 7 (seven) days of receipt of the goods (the so called "cooling off" period) in writing to the address above or by email to cancel@elizacarthy.co.uk  including full details of your order.

2. you return the goods in good condition, unopened (in the case of printed matter, audio and video products) or unworn (in the case of clothing products) at your expense. We strongly recommend that items are returned via registered post.

Upon receipt of the goods (in good condition) we shall refund your full purchase price within 14 days.

Use of your information

The information you provide to us through this site may be held and used by us for any of the following purposes: order processing, administration of customers' orders and/or accounts, dealing with enquiries or complaints, crime and fraud prevention, marketing our products and services generally or for sending information to you about our products from time to time. If you do not wish to receive any information other than products ordered please let us know buy clicking here.

Governing Law and Contract Formation

No contract will subsist between you and us for the sale by it to you of any product unless and until we accept your order by email confirming that we have shipped your product. That acceptance will be deemed complete and will be deemed for all purposes to have been effectively communicated to you at the time we send the email to you (whether or not you receive that email). For the avoidance of doubt, any such contract will be deemed to have been concluded in England and any such contract will be interpreted, construed and enforced in all respects in accordance with the laws of England and you and we irrevocably submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.

PLEASE NOTE that the order form MUST be filled in precisely including County/State and Country in the correct fields. The default country is the United Kingdom. This will change when you fill in your details and hit the recalculate button. Orders that do not contain accurate information WILL NOT be processed.
